Kline Properties was founded in 2002, with the purchase of a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom single-family home in the north campus area of The University of Texas at Austin. The company grew through a string of acquisitions and in September 2007, Kline acquired 2020 Apartments – a 103 unit apartment community located on South Congress street just one mile south of the Central Business District in Austin Texas.
Today Kline Properties owns a portfolio of 22 properties through its sister companies that include houses, duplexes, and apartment developments in and around The University of Texas and downtown Austin.

David Kline
President
Throughout the next 3 years, David grew the company through a string of acquisitions in the student housing market around UT, while also becoming a licensed real estate Broker. From September 2007 through February 2009, David focused on the redevelopment and conversion of 2020 Apartments to 2020 Congress Condominiums. During this time, David oversaw all aspects of the project – underwriting, acquisition, general contracting, and marketing.
David oversees all aspects of the company and looks forward to aggressive growth in the areas of acquisition, development, and property management.

Shannon Vance
VP of Property Management Operations
Shannon holds several designations offered by the National Apartment Association (NAA): in 2002 she became a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), then on to obtaining her Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS), and in 2007 she completed the Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification.
As a highly active member of the Austin Apartment Association (AAA): Shannon has served on the Executive Board, Board of Directors, participated on multiple committees, taught AAA offered courses and authored articles in industry-related publications.
Throughout her career, for her hard work and dedication, Shannon has been presented with several awards. In 2005 she won Manager of the Year through the Austin Apartment Association, she went on to win the Texas Apartment Association Manager of the Year in 2006. Shannon was nominated several times for the prestigious Supervisor of the Year Award by the Austin Apartment Association before winning the award in 2011.
In Shannon’s free time she keeps busy; enjoying time with her family, reading, rooting for the Houston Texans, outdoor activities with her dogs, and managing her rental properties.
